Voller Freude präsentiere ich den ersten offiziellen Studio-Song meiner Band 6 Gramm Caratillo … oder 6gC, wie unsere unzähligen Fans abzukürzen pflegen.
Studio-Song? Was heißt das?
Nun, bislang haben wir auf unseren Kanälen (z. B. auf Facebook) lediglich Proberaumaufnahmen und einen mittelprächtigen (aber lustigen) Live-Mitschnitt unseres ersten Konzertes präsentieren können. Unser Beitrag auf diesem Sampler – World War M: Paris, 11/13/15 – ist jedoch einer der vier Songs, die wir in diesem Jahr mit Thorsten Minning in den »Spaceship Studios« aufgenommen haben. Eine EP mit ebendiesen vier Songs ist noch in Arbeit …

Thorsten Minning (1971) ist Komponist und Sound Designer. Im Sommer 2008 übernimmt er das Sound Design für Die Füchsin, was dem Film ein Jahr nach der ursprünglichen Veröffentlichung (Kino) eine völlig neue Qualität verleiht. In Erinnerungen komponiert er die Musik im Film, ist erneut verantwortlich für das Sound Design und diesmal auch für die Tonmischung. 2016 produziert er die ersten Songs von 6 Gramm Caratillo.
Thorsten Minning kann eine lange und beeindruckende Referenzliste vorweisen: Sein hervorragend trocken gehaltenes, realistisches Sound Design hat den Ton der ZDF-Kriminalserie »KDD – Kriminaldauerdienst« maßgeblich geprägt. Auch für den SAT1-Eventfilm »Manatu – Sag die Wahrheit« (Regie: Edzard Onneken) schuf Thorsten die passende Welt aus Ton. Zudem stehen Kinofilme wie »Nichts als die Wahrheit« von Roland Suso Richter oder Kurzfilme wie »Virjule – Das innere Berlin« von Max Zeitler in seiner Vita.
Neben seinen Tätigkeiten als Sound Designer für Film und Fernsehen (ARD: »Das Lächeln der Tiefseefische«, »Der Grenzer und das Mädchen«; ZDF: »Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter«, »KDD – Kriminaldauerdienst«; SAT1: »Wolffs Revier«; RTL: »Balko« etc.) komponiert Thorsten Musik für die Werbung (Volkswagen, Deutsche Telekom, Juvena of Switzerland etc.).
Eine der Voraussetzungen, die unser bei Abgefuckt Glücklich Records eingereichter Song erfüllen musste, war ein antifaschistischer Text.
Warum?
Weil Antifaschismus das Leitmotiv der Compilation ist: Etwas mehr als ein Dutzend sehr feiner Songs, die sich musikalisch von Punk über Hardcore, Riot Grrrl bis hin zu Crust bewegen (für den Laien = alles nur Krach), machen aus der Abgefuckt Glücklich Compilation ein – in meinen Augen Ohren – sehr schönes Release, welches ich Dir hiermit herzlichst ans Herz legen möchte. Und noch besser: Den Sampler gibt’s für umme! Wer mag, kann aber gerne auch für den Download – frei nach dem Name-your-price-Prinzip – zahlen. Je mehr Taler in Richtung Label fließen, desto größer ist die Chance, dass das Teil auch als CD veröffentlicht wird. Und das wäre mal richtig nice.

With great joy, I present the first official studio song by my band 6 Gramm Caratillo – or 6gC, as our countless fans like to abbreviate us.
Studio song? What does that mean?
Well, so far we have only been able to share rehearsal-room recordings and a mediocre (but funny) live recording of our first show on our channels (for example on Facebook). Our contribution to this compilation, however – World War M: Paris, 11/13/15 – is one of four songs we recorded this year with Thorsten Minning at Spaceship Studios. An EP featuring these four songs is still in the works…

Thorsten Minning (1971) is a composer and sound designer. In the summer of 2008, he took over the sound design for Celine Dances Today (Die Füchsin), giving the short film a completely new quality one year after its original theatrical release. For Memories (Erinnerungen), he composed the film’s music, was once again responsible for the sound design and, this time, also handled the sound mix. In 2016, he produced the first songs by 6 Gramm Caratillo.
Thorsten Minning has a long and impressive list of credits: his brilliantly dry and realistic sound design played a major role in shaping the sound of the German ZDF crime series "KDD – Kriminaldauerdienst". Thorsten also created the right world of sound for the Sat.1 event film "Manatu – Sag die Wahrheit" (directed by Edzard Onneken). His CV also includes feature films such as Roland Suso Richter’s "After the Truth" and short films such as Max Zeitler’s "Virjule – Das innere Berlin".
Alongside his work as a sound designer for film and television (ARD: "Das Lächeln der Tiefseefische", "Der Grenzer und das Mädchen"; ZDF: "Generation War", "KDD – Kriminaldauerdienst"; Sat.1: "Wolffs Revier"; RTL: "Balko" etc.), Thorsten also composes music for advertising, including work for Volkswagen, Deutsche Telekom and Juvena of Switzerland.
One of the requirements our song had to meet when we submitted it to Abgefuckt Glücklich Records ("Fucked Up Happy Records") was that it needed antifascist lyrics.
Why?
Because antifascism is the leitmotif of the compilation: a little more than a dozen very fine songs ranging from punk and hardcore to riot grrrl and crust (to the untrained ear: all just noise) make the Abgefuckt Glücklich Compilation a – in my eyes ears – very beautiful release that I warmly recommend to you. And even better: the compilation is free! Anyone who wants to can still pay for the download according to the name-your-price model. The more coins flow toward the label, the better the chances that this thing will also be released on CD. And that would be seriously nice.
