Die Tour war toll und auch durchaus erfolgreich. Ich habe es mit meiner Aktion in mehrere Zeitungen und sogar ins Fernsehen geschafft.

Ein groĂer Verlag lud mich auf die Frankfurter Buchmesse ein, wo ich eine »Guerilla-Lesung« wagte und auch prompt vom Sicherheitspersonal gestoppt wurde. Meine Personalien wurden aufgenommen und mir wurde angedroht, bei der nĂ€chsten AuffĂ€lligkeit ein Hausverbot erteilt zu bekommen. Mamma mia.
Das GesprĂ€ch mit einer Chefredakteurin des Verlags lief vielversprechend und ich hoffe, diesbezĂŒglich bald Neuigkeiten verkĂŒnden zu dĂŒrfen. Allerdings habe ich in den letzten Jahren gelernt, Hoffnungen Hoffnungen sein zu lassen und mich erst zu freuen, wenn es auch tatsĂ€chlich etwas Sicheres zu berichten gibt. Ich bin auf alle FĂ€lle sehr gespannt.
Auf der Frankfurter Buchmesse schaute ich auch bei meinem Verlag â Books on Demand â vorbei. Ich stellte mich in meiner vollstĂ€ndigen StraĂenleser-Montur vor; also mit Pappschild und meinem Rucksack, in dem ich meinen VerstĂ€rker, mein Mikrofon, meinen Spenden-Cowboyhut und BĂŒcher herumschleppte. Auch bei BoD kam mein StraĂenleser-Projekt gut an, was dazu fĂŒhrte, dass der hauseigene Blog »fingerprint« mir einen Absatz in einem Artikel ĂŒber die Buchmesse widmete.
Durch meine Guerilla-Lesung auf der Buchmesse lernte ich auch den Journalisten Michael F. Koch kennen, der von meiner Aktion sehr angetan war, ebenfalls davon berichtete und mir vorschlug, ein Tourtagebuch zu schreiben, welches womöglich als Rubrik auf seiner Website veröffentlicht werden könnte. Ich hatte ehrlich gesagt keine Lust, schon wieder etwas zu schreiben â die Arbeit an »Serendipity« war schlieĂlich sehr lang und auslaugend. Mittlerweile habe ich mich aber doch selbst davon ĂŒberzeugt, dass ein Tourtagebuch schon eine schöne Erinnerung ist. Ich schreibe derzeit daran. FĂŒr die Lesefaulen gibtâs dort ĂŒbrigens auch das (fertige) Video-Tourtagebuch und Zeitungsartikel ĂŒber mich als »Deutschlands ersten StraĂenleser«.
6 Gramm Caratillo
Back to the roots! Mit 13 Jahren habe ich mich erstmals als Punk bezeichnet ⊠und tue es auch gerne heute noch. Wenn ich gefragt wurde, ob ich etwas in meinem bisherigen Leben bereue, kam von mir immer recht schnell die Antwort: »Ich habe keine Band.«
Nun, dieses gröĂte Problem meines Lebens hat sich erledigt: Was ich bereits in frĂŒheren BeitrĂ€gen angedeutet habe, kann ich nun lauthals verkĂŒnden: Ich habe im Januar 2015 eine Band gegrĂŒndet! Diese nennt sich 6 Gramm Caratillo und gibt am kommenden Samstag, dem 12. Dezember 2015 ihr erstes Konzert. Wo? Im Mainzer Haus Mainusch. Lustigerweise kommen nĂ€mlich drei der vier Bandmitglieder aus Rheinhessen. Der Mann am Bass kommt aus Brandenburg. Wir kommen trotzdem mit ihm aus. đ
Ich halte ĂŒbrigens das Mikro und schreibe die Texte. Informationen zur Band, Texte und bald auch Lieder (oder Teile davon) findest Du hier und auf Facebook.
Das warâs fĂŒr heute. Vergiss nicht, Deinen Freunden, Verwandten, Nachbarn und Arbeitskollegen noch schnell »Serendipity â Teil 1« und »Serendipity â Teil 2« zu Weihnachten zu bestellen. Du willst doch nicht, dass sich wegen Dir noch jemand Ă€rgert, oder?

The tour was great and successful. Several newspapers and even TV reported on me and my project.

A leading publishing house invited me to the worldâs biggest book fair in Frankfurt, where I dared to perform a "guerilla reading". I got stopped pretty quickly by the securities of course. They took down my personal data and threatened me to kick me out and ban me from entering future book fairâs in case they see me performing illegaly again. Mamma mia.
The chat with one of the publishing companyâs editors in charge was promising and I hope that I can â referring to this â proclaim news soon. But in the past years, I also learned to let hopes be hopes and donât start to be happy about something before it isnât sure. Iâm definitely excited.
At the Frankfurt Book Fair, I also visited my publishing house: Books on Demand. I introduced myself carrying all my street reader stuff, which means: my cardboard sign and my backpack in which I lugged around an amp, a microphone, a Stetson and books. Also BoD liked my street reader project. So their in-house blog "fingerprint" spent me a passage in their article about the book fair. Itâs written in German, of courseâŠ
By holding my guerilla reading at the book fair, I also met journalist Michael F. Koch who has been so taken with my performance that he wrote an article about it and told me to write a tour diary. Heâd be interested in publishing it as a special column on his website. I actually didnât want to write again â working on "Serendipity" took a lot of time and leached me out quite a lot. Well, after thinking about it, I came to the conclusion that a diary about my tour will be a great memory. Now Iâm writing it down â but in German only⊠sorry. You can anyway read the not-yet-finished diary here. There are also selfie videos I took during my trip and the newspaper articles that were written about me as "Germanyâs First Street Reader".

Back to the roots! I called myself a punk for the first time when I was 13. And I still enjoy doing it today. When I got asked if thereâs something that I miss in my life, I pretty quickly replied: "I donât have a band."
Well, this biggest problem of my life is solved: I already pronounced it in earlier posts, now I can yell it out: I founded a band in January 2015! Itâs called 6 Gramm Caratillo and will have its very first show on Saturday, December 12, 2015. Where? At Haus Mainusch in Mainz. Mainz is where Iâm originally coming from and itâs quite funny that three out of four band members have their origins in that area of Germany. The man with the bass guitar is from Brandenburg. We like him nevertheless. đ
Iâm by the way holding the microphone and writing the lyrics. You can find information about the band, the lyrics and soon our songs (or parts of it) right here and on Facebook.
And thatâs it for today. Donât forget to tell your (German speaking) friends, relatives, neighbors and colleagues to buy copies of »Serendipity â Teil 1« and »Serendipity â Teil 2« for Xmas. You donât want them to be upset during the holidays, do you?
