Wird Clint Eastwood im November »Erinnerungen« sehen?

Is Clint Eastwood Going to See "Memories" in November?

Monarch Film Festival
DeutschEnglish

Hallo Welt!

Jaha!

1. Pacific Grove liegt in Kalifornien.

Hello world!

I should really start thinking about moving to the US: With the Monarch Film Festival in Pacific Grove, the number of US states in which "Memories" has been or will be screened rises to 11. Rock and roll! The last US screening of "Memories" was just under two weeks ago. When I blogged about our nomination at the Ruby Mountain Film Festival in Nevada, I joked that we were obviously getting closer to Hollywood. Well, now there are two facts that kind of support this crude thesis even more:

1. Pacific Grove is in California. Monterey and Carmel are less than ten kilometers away. Carmel, by the way, is the town where a certain Clint Eastwood was sheriff… uhm… mayor from 1986 to 1988. San Francisco is about two hours away, and Hollywood less than six.

2. And now it gets cool: The award for Best Short Film at the Ruby Mountain Film Festival in Nevada at the end of September went to Bryce Dallas Howard, who is actually a Golden Globe-nominated actress. This time, Bryce directed. Her dad Ron Howard, who won two Oscars for directing and producing "A Beautiful Mind", produced his daughter’s short film, which, by the way, is called "When You Find Me". Well, if "Memories" is nominated in the same category as names like these, we probably haven’t done too much wrong. 🙂

…And now comes the real kicker: In our category, including "Memories", only six… yes: 6 films are nominated! Yee-haw and shoobidoo!

Like Carmel-by-the-Sea and Monterey, Pacific Grove was a place where a surprising number of artists gathered from the 1890s onward. Artists of the plein-air school in particular, looking for beautiful places and landscapes to paint, found what they were looking for in this little town in Monterey County. Since I’m still hooked on the atmosphere with the colleagues I met in Marbella, and since I’m sure I would also meet interesting people in Pacific Grove, I’d really love to quickly jet off to California right now… Any sponsors out there? 😉

When things start rolling, they really start rolling,
